Mr. Lonnie Williams Sr.

****NOTE: Visitation and Funeral Service Times and Location Listed Below**** Mr. Lonnie Williams Sr. departed this life on Monday February 17, 2020. He was born October 9, 1950 in Sweetwater, AL to the late Dorsey and Pearlie Mae Williams. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age. Lonnie grew up in Sweetwater, AL where he attended school at Marengo High School. He later moved to Kalamazoo, MI in 1974, where he met the love of his life, wife Peggy. They united in marriage on October of 1988 and to this union united his daughter, Eulalia and two children were born Lolita and Lonnie Jr. He was employed by Aunt Millie’s Bakery for 34 years where he retired from in 2012. Lonnie was a devoted husband, father, brother and a great friend to many. He had a giving heart of gold. One of his greatest character traits was his loyalty. If you were on his friends and family list, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you. Oh, he would complain a lot and tell folks that they “irritate” him! None the less, he would seldom say, no, if you were in need. He was an awesome father that provided things and instilled traits that money couldn’t buy. He was an educator and strengthener and we will all miss him so dearly. Lonnie loved to fish, hunt and cook. His specialty was collard greens. You could always catch him in his yard fixing on his boat or “piddling around. If you saw the truck in the yard or smoke out of the garage chimney you knew he was in his favorite place! He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Pearlie Mae Williams; brothers, James Lee Williams, John Levi Williams, Jessie Lee Williams and Lawson Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 32 years, Peggy Williams; three children, Eulalia Miller of Detroit, MI; Lolita Brown (Eddie) and Lonnie Williams Jr. (JaQuinta) all of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Bessie Lacks and Janie Williams both of Kalamazoo; sister-in-love, Loretta Williams of Sweetwater, AL; two brothers, Albert (Veronica) Williams; his twin, Ronnie (Lenora) Williams; five grandchildren; Brittany and Matthew of Detroit, MI; Jafalan, Jourdin and Allisyn all of Kalamazoo, MI; three great grandchildren, Raven, Anthony and Amere; a special uncle, Elmore Cook and a special niece, Rachel Brown and special sister-in-law Beverly Brown; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
