Mrs. Megann Beth Houston

Mrs. Megann Beth Houston went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2015 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born October 22, 1979 the daughter of Garry and Dianne Patrick in Cadillac, MI. In 1998, Megann graduated from Maple Valley High School in Vermontville, MI. She accepted Christ at the early age 4 years old and was a member of Westland Church of God in Westland, MI. Megann was a True Worshipper of God, singing unto the Lord for the first time at church at the tender age of 5. Her parents recognized her apparent gift from God when she sang with her friend Elaine at the age of 12. It became clear that she could have a future in music when she was the lead in her high school plays, four years in a row! Megann played an active role in ministry and worship in the community. She was a faithful member of Christian Life Center (Stones Church) in Kalamazoo, MI. She also was part of the Kalamazoo House of Prayer (KHOP), as an Administrative Assistant as well as a worship leader. She felt that being a part of KHOP was her destiny. Megann met DeShawn 6 years ago while worshipping the Lord together in the music ministry at Christian Life Center. On November 15, 2014 they united in marriage, and to this union she brought three children. She was an amazing mother, who devoted all of her time and attention to her children. Megann was a very open and friendly person who was always full of life. Anyone that met her for the first time could attest that she made them feel like she was a friend they had known for years. She had a giving spirit about her, and had a heart to help people in any way she could. Megann was a very strong, courageous woman, who would meet any challenge with a determination of never-ending faith. She will be truly missed by her family, friends, and by those in the community who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, DeShawn Houston; her children Molly McElhenny (11 yrs. old); Maxwell McElhenny (9 years old) and Micah McElhenny (5 years old); her parents, Garry and Dianne Patrick; brothers, Andy and Thomas Patrick; sister, Jessica Patrick; half brother, Garry and his wife Sharon Patrick; half sister, Carri and her husband Mike Lamb; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
