Kalamazoo was her home until she was elevated to her Heavenly home. Catherine was a devout Christian and a member of the Senior Usher Board at Second Baptist Church. She will be remembered by many as a dedicated servant of the Lord. She always encouraged many to trust and believe in the Lord. Catherine, worked alongside her Husband Tommie Lee Sr. for many years. They were trailblazers within their community with their multiple businesses. Catherine Sykes affectionately known as “Dear” leaves to cherish her memory; her Husband Tommie Lee Sykes Sr., her children: Geneva (Henry) Bates of Grand Rapids, MI. Willie (Janet) White of Palmetto GA, Laurie White of Atlanta GA and Dwight Sykes of Decatur GA. Jerry (Sandra) White, Rodney (Karol) White, Talanda Sykes, Tijuana (Tyrone) Edwards, Thimothy Davenport, Tommie Lee (Turissie) Jr., Herbert Sykes all of Kalamazoo, MI. Her beloved siblings: Calvene (James) Philipps and Otha (Angie) Glenn of Miami, FL., Leotha Rogers, Henry Glenn Jr., and Alice (Jerome) Wheatley of Kalamazoo MI., Betty Howard, Nathan and Larry Glenn of Cleveland, OH. A host of Grand, Great, Great Great grandchildren, nieces, nephews’ great nieces and nephews all of whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Calvene Glenn Sr. and one son Lamar Sykes. Brothers Alfred and Roosevelt Irby, LD, Robert Curtis Glenn and one sister Mable Glenn-Bush.
