Ms. DaSheena R R. Hampton

DaSheena Rosita Renee Hampton passed away peacefully on Saturday night, July 25, 2020. DaSheena was born May 19, 1969 in Kalamazoo Michigan to Mary Anne Hampton-Tidwell. DaSheena attended Kalamazoo Central High School; where she was a very good athlete and loved track and field. DaSheena always made the necessary sacrifices to support her family. She had multiple side hustles and jobs which included janitorial services at the Kalamazoo Public Library and Comerica Bank. There was never a dull moment when you were around DaSheena; she was outspoken, feisty, funny and the life of the party. Sheen Sheen had a lively personality and was known for saying: “Oh Well,” PLEASE CHILD,” YOU ON THIRD,” AND “PERIODT!” DaSheena loved resting in the comfort of her home while talking on her phone, tuning into Facebook, and watching movies. She was a profound chef and loved talking to her mother daily. DaSheena leaves to cherish, four daughters and one grandson: Shakiyla “Anne” Hampton, Camaria “Mup” Hampton, Monifha “Moni” Hampton, Akilah “Me Me” Hampton and Da’Mari “Bubba” Hampton. She also leaves her mother Mary (Maurice) Hampton-Tidwell; siblings Villa “Big Sis” Hampton, Tyrone (Janelle) Hampton, Kimambu Hampton, Tasha Hampton, Chika Hampton and Rosie Onwuneme. She also leaves behind two uncles: Charles (Margret) Hampton and John (Bobette) Hampton; a special niece: Alexandria “Budd” Dunigan and a special nephew: Albert “Mr. B” Bradley; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and a life-long special friend/brother Brian Williams. Dasheena was a mother-like figure who cared for many in our community who included: Cookie, Candace, Patrice, Valentina, Kendra, Cawon, Myron, Jatarry, Dyann, Mauresha, Jaisamir, Rendae, Joseph, Tina, Chas, Vonvon, Baby Jack, Lil Kimambu, Qiara, Tenisha, Nia, Rickysha, Nathaniel, LaPrae and Jarvis. She was loving teacher, nurturer and a counselor who taught them to survive and persevere. She also left behind two special cousins: Daquary Blanks and Poopha Hampton and host of life-long friends who includes: Alonzo Bell, Jason Mills, Katrina Robinson, Trina West, Shawna Anderson, Teresa Jackson, Aretina Jones, Audre Lee, Candace Chamberlin, Kidada Harkness, Angie Joyce, Brandy, Bobby, Starlett, Erwin, Latoya Fuller, Quana Walker, Alisha Graves, Lavonda Mullen, Resse and the Burdick Street family.
