Devon entered God’s kingdom on April 24, 2024. She was the first-born grandchild on both sides of the family. If I could describe Devon with one word, it would be outrageous. She dared to dream big. To know her was to love her. She always tried to bring joy into someone’s life whether it be one of her crazy stories, finding a way to help, or informing you about something she was passionate about. She was very wise and artistic, none the least. If she cared passionately about you, you were her next sketch. Her friends were her sisters. And with those bonds she kindly built her own village, and we all loved each other like a family. To her little brother Cameryn, she was his second mom. Devon loved animals and had a cat named Cosmo and a dog named Rogi. She also enjoyed performing the moves she had just learned in wrestling on you only to have them backfire on her. I remember her recently obtaining her CPR certification and asked me (mom) if she could attempt to perform CPR on me. Devon was a freshman at East Kentwood High School located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was a member of both the JV girls wrestling team and the JV girls track team. She was planning on attending U of M (Go Blue!) upon graduation. Although Devon didn’t yet have her first job, she enjoyed volunteering at Kids Club through her high school and teaching the younger kids wrestling moves. Although Devon’s life was cut short, she still managed to build lasting relationships with many of her elementary and middle school teachers and friends as well as the new ones she met in high school. Devon is preceded in death by her Great Uncle Walter Hansard Jr, Great Grandfathers Walter Hansard Sr and Joseph C. White, Uncle Stephon Moore, and her Great Grandmothers Rosie Lee Montgomery and Shelia Kay White. Devon is survived by her mother, Dominique White; father Jordan Usher; brothers Cameryn White (mom) and Kyri White (dad); sisters Jordyn Usher and Erynn Usher(dad); Grandmothers Cephia White-McIntosh and Stephanie Hansard; Grandfathers Joseph White, Stanley McIntosh, and Charles Usher; Uncles Marcus White, Jarious White, Jedidiah White, Brandon Young and Christopher Moore; and Aunts Shenita Lyons, Rasheda Hansard, Joanna White and Amir Usher; many cousins and special friends Jordan Lusbourgh, Grace Davis, and Saige McKinney-Brown.
