He was born May 11, 1946 the son of Deanna Pippin in Macon, MS. He attended Liddell Elementary and went on to attend Liddell High School in Macon, MS. Math was his favorite subject to study. James met his high school sweetheart, Pauline Kye, later uniting in marriage on May 25, 1969 and to this union, two children were born, James C. Jr. and Shalaunda Monique In July of 1969, James relocated his family to Kalamazoo, Michigan for better working opportunities. In September of 1969, he began working at Brown Company (which later became Graphic Packaging). He was employed there for 29 years until retirement. He attended Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Percy Tinsley, and was baptized into the faith. He later rededicated his life to the Lord under the leadership of Pastor Jerry Wilkerson. James was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, serving on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee. He enjoyed bowling, loved to watch football, and wrestling WWE Smackdown. He enjoyed country western tv shows and watching the History Channel. James was a family man and loved spending time with his family at family gatherings. He loved to take a road trip every year back to Macon, MS to visit his childhood stomping ground. James was known to have a good personality and a great sense of humor. He was very humble and loved the simple way of life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. James was preceded in death by his son, James C. Pippin, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Pippin; his parents, Aaron Stewart and Deanna Pippin; 4 brothers, Otha Lee, Lester, French and Charles; sister, Jeanette Burnett; and one niece, Aszure. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 54 years, Pauline Pippin of Kalamazoo, MI; daughter Shalaunda Monique of Kalamazoo, 1 sister, Sadie Campbell Macon, MS; 2 brothers, Aaron and James Stewart of Flint, MI; aunt, Lucy Walker, great aunt, Willie Florence, grandchildren, Christopher Pippin, Acasia Pippin, Aaron Ovesen, Isaac Ovesen, 3 great grandchildren, Crystal Pippin, Carter James Pippin and Camille Pippin; 2 best friends and work buddies, Henry Grayson and John Bradley; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
