On Sunday, September 30, 2012, God wrapped His arms around Jheryl Cecil Wright ("Log Head" aka "Lil Lord") and said, "Welcome home my son. You fought a good fight and now it's time to rest your head upon my shoulder. Jheryl was born July 10, 1987 to Jackel Wright and the late Shawn Walter Lemar Peake both of Kalamazoo, MI. He was baptized at an early age of seven at First United Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, MI, under the leadership of Pastor Moore. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 2005. He attended the Boys and Girls Club of Kalamazoo and participated in the painting crew at Youth Opportunities Unlimited. (Y.O.U.). Jheryl was the first youth player to receive the Mighty Mouse Award for his outstanding achievement in football, which was named after his late cousin, Shamar Casey. Jheryl loved playing basketball, football, video games and listening to music. He was full of life and loved spending time with his two daughters, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jheryl was preceded in death by his father, Shawn Walter Lemar Peake; grandfather, Walter (Babe) Casey; two great grandfathers, William Johnson and Jack Powell; and great grandmother, Marquetta Copley. Jheryl leaves behind to cherish his memory: two beautiful daughters, Jha' breah and Airyl; his loving mother, Jackel Wright (John Betts); his loving sister, Selena Ann Wright; 5 brothers, Shawn Lemar Peake-Wright, Adriean Dontray Peake-Wright (Erika Johnson); Andre Walker, Devin Stevenson all of Kalamazoo, MI and DeShaun Sims of San Antonio, TX; two great grandmothers: Liza Johnson of Kalamazoo, MI and Willa Mae Wright of Indianapolis, IN; grandparents, Ollie Mae (Robert) Johnson of Chicago, IL, Leonard (Alice Wright and Vivette (Emmett) Jones of Kalamazoo, MI. Jheryl also leaves to cherish his memory, his loving fiancee', India Thigpen; his godmothers, Leflora (Dorothy) Tubbs and Brenda Stewart both of Kalamazoo, MI; three favorite cousins, Sharon Johnson, Kenneth Johnson and Vaughn Peake; special aunts, Malinda Little, Paulette Johnson, Michelle Johnson, Jeanette Gordon, Siwazuru ("Moe Moe") Washington and 2 very special aunts, Barbara Johnson and Louise Williams who's truck he always wanted to drive! Best friends Mark and Marcus Ford, Trelle G. Boyd and several other special friends, Jheryl has left behind to celebrate his life. Give your life to Christ and Christ will give you Life Eternal.
