Mr. Raymond Eugene Brown

****NOTE: Visitation & Funeral Service Times and Location Listed Below Raymond Brown went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Raymond was born on December 18, 1960 to Richard F. and Daisy M. Brown, he was the youngest of their three children. Raymond accepted Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Matthew W. Wright in Kalamazoo, MI. Prior to his passing, Raymond attended Greater Joy C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey Townsend, where he was a faithful member in their music ministry. Throughout his life, Raymond had been employed at Burger King, Borgess Medical Center, Ministry with Community, and lastly at Meijer until poor health led him to disability. Although Raymond never married or had any children, he did have a love of his life: His music...which included his bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitar, and on occasion, playing the piano. Music was his passion in life and without it, he was not complete! He was respected in the community for his ability to play by ear and put his own style of soul into the mix. This was an awesome gift from God that he never took for granted!! Raymond also had a kind, compassionate side. He was willing to give of himself to help others whether it was his time or his last dime! He loved being around people just to shoot the breeze! That infectious laugh and distinctive voice that loved to tell stories will be greatly missed by his family and his friends. Rest in Peace Raymond, you fought a good fight and we will see you again in Paradise!! Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy M. Brown and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memories: His dad, Richard F. Brown & Josephine (Mama Jo); siblings: Angela R. Brown-Ash and Richard A. Brown; 3 nieces: Taklsha, Trenise, Jewel and 1 nephew: Micaiah, along with their respective children; his siblings by marriage are: Curtis, Stephanie, & Carmen. We would like to give special acknowledgment on behalf of Raymond to his Aunt, Martha Brown-Holt who he loved running errands with until she became ill. Also, a special shout out to Artie Poplar his “homie” in Georgia who he talked to practically every day, sometimes multiple times a day...your friendship made him happy!!
