Mrs. Sarah Lillie Moore

****NOTE: VISITATION & FUNERAL SERVICE TIMES AND LOCATION LISTED BELOW**** Sarah Lillie Moore, was born June 4th, 1925 in Mulga, Alabama the oldest of four children born to the late William & Sarah Gilmore. On the morning of September 12th, 2019, Mother Moore transitioned to eternal life. Sarah Lillie Moore met the love of her life Tommy Earl Moore Sr. in 1946. They were united in Holy Matrimony on February 11th, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama and to this union two children were born. They were married for 17 years. Sarah Lillie Moore was a dedicated wife and mother who worked outside of the home at The Harris Hotel and Upjohn Community Nursing Home for over 20 years until she retired as a domestic worker. Sarah confessed Christ at an early age at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Mulga, Alabama. She also was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she served faithfully under the leadership of Rev. Mabry Gardner, Rev. Asa Dawson and Pastor Dr. J. Louis Felton, until she took ill. She loved the Lord and served him faithfully and she was blessed to live her 94 beautiful years. She was preceded in death by her parents William & Sarah Gilmore, her husband, Tommy Earl Moore Sr., brother Bill Gilmore and sister Lottie Mae Foy. Mother Sarah Lillie Moore leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Flora Jones and son Tommy Moore Jr. both of Kalamazoo, MI; one sister, Jimmie P. Fountain “Scrap” of Kalamazoo, MI; one sister-in-love, Bernice Moore; grandchildren: Gigi Bryant, Cea (Charles) Green, Tommy Thurman, Eurtis L. Jones Jr., Michael Hughes, Deandre Eason, Eric (Shumella) Jones, Aaron (Danielle) Jones and Trevaughn Burton; and 21 great grandchildren; special nieces: Juanita Cooper of Birmingham, AL.; Marilyn Jones of Detroit, MI; Grace Moore, Barbara Loftin, Renetta Jones, Cynthia Moore all of Kalamazoo, MI and Alice (“Niecey”) Moore of Dixon Mills, AL; special nephews: Alric Smith “Doll”, Frankie Smith “Pete”, Gallaway Moore III; Terry Moore and Lonnie Moore all of Kalamazoo, MI; William Smith “Fenda” of Phoenix, AZ and Russel Moore of Dixon Mills, AL; special friends: Ann Smith; Nicole Kieser; Sonja Franklin and caretaker Maria Varnesdeel. Also a host of other family members and friends.
