Timothy J. Crowell

Timothy Jay Crowell, 73, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 with his family by his side. Tim was born on September 25, 1941 to Eva Elder and Carl Crowell. In 1960, he welcomed his first daughter, Bambi into the world. Two years later he was blessed with another bundle of joy, his daughter Jamie. He was also blessed to have a special son, Tony Marr. In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He then proudly served in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam in 1967,and he continued to serve until he was honorably discharged in 1972. Tim later met and married a woman by then name of Linda, with three small children (Bill, Pearl and Nancy) in tow, whom he happily carried out a "father-like" role to. Tim worked for a bit as taxi driver for Checker Cab, just as many of his family members did before him. He later established a career with the city water company, until his retirement. He was a very private and traditional man. He was kind and gentle. Tim was very generous, always willing to help his family. All who knew him would agree that he was an extraordinary man to know and love! Over the years, Tim developed many interests with his favorite being motorcycles.We all know how much he loved his bikes! He also enjoyed collecting coins and silver. He loved to find old jewelry and polish it to a beautiful shine. He took pride in finding beauty in a broken world. Tim liked to watch the Rocky movies, old westerns, comedies and wrestling. He loved music and could sing quite well. Some of his favorite artists include: George Jones, Merle Haggard and CCR. Tim is survived by his daughters: Bambi Williams, Jamie Lewis, Pearl (Jerry) Newnum, Nancy Middleton (Robert Walker); sons, Alfred "Bill" (Nancy) Middleton and Tony Marr; sister, Sylvia (Larry) Hensley, grandchildren: Bambi Edick, Nicole Middleton, Amanda Edick, Matthew Edick Sr., Gregory Peck, Heather Walker, AJ Middleton, Tiffany Walker and Harley Middleton, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and his near and dear friends, Mr. Albert Cole and Mr. Ted White. He is preceded in death by his mother: Eva Elder, father, Carl Crowell; sisters, Barb Crowell, Leora Counterman; brothers, Tom Crowell and Jean George; granddaughter, Samantha Walker and his late wife and loving friend, Linda Crowell.
