Mrs. Anna Mary Winfield

On November 9, 1928, god blessed Lloyd and Corenner (Moore) Jones with a precious gift, anna Mary Jones. On Saturday May 21, 2011, God called Sis. Anna Mary Winfield from labor to reward. Miss Anna Mary Jones was united in Holy Matrimony on August 19, 1946 to J.D. Winfield Sr. and from this union came four children: Nancy, J.D. Jr., Tammie and Wesley. Sis. Winfield was educated in the Mississippi School System. As a young child she confessed Christ and was baptized. In 1954, Sis. Winfield moved to Kalamazoo and united with The Mt. Zion Baptist Church. As a young woman she worked faithfully with the youth teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir. In her later years, she loved the fellowship and serving in the Missionary Ministry and Church Women United. Sister Winfield was an avid reader, the Bible being her favorite book. As a stay-at-home-wife and mom, God made Sis. Winfield just the right mix of down-to-earth and save-the-world to make her the perfect fit for her family. Sis. Anna Winfield was preceded in death by her parents: Lloyd Jones and Corenner Moore Jones; a son, J.D. Winfield Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Willard and Nancy Winfield; sister, Lula Stackhouse; sisters and brothers-in-law, John and Lillie Winfield, Willard and Rosie Winfield, Mattie and Leonard Willis and Ellizabeth Brooks. Sis. Anna Winfield will be affectionately missed by her husband of 64 years, J.D. Winfield Sr.; daughters: Nancy Little-Buchanan and Tammie Winfield both of Kalamazoo, Michigan; son, Wesley Winfield of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandchildren, Corey Little, Quentin (Carmela) Little, Carmen (T-Shombe) Broomfield, Kim (Daniel) Primer, Talbert B. Ollie, Talanda Ollie all of Kalamazoo, Michigan, David, Amani, Isaiah and Braylen Winfield of St. Paul, Minnesota; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Loraine Tucker of Kalamazoo, Michigan; stepmother, Mary Jones; stepsister, Thelma Gage, aunt, Isabella Lester all of Chicago, Illinois; aunt, Annie Mae Cannon of Newton, Mississippi; stepbrothers and sister, Rommie and William Ware, LuElla Knox; and nieces, nephews and cousins. God blessed Sis. Winfield over the years with a lot of extended families: Edwards, Dunigans, Mills, Fields, Myles, Ollie and Little famillies; Sis. Pinki Jefferson and Sadie Manual.
