Mr. Buddie Thompson Jr.

Buddie Thompson Jr., AKA “Bud Jr.” was born on May 25, 1941 in Houlka, Mississippi to the late Mr. & Mrs. Buddie Sr. Thompson. He received his education through Houlka High. On February 8, 2014 God made a house call and he departed this life suddenly. The oldest male of 6 siblings Bud Jr. loved his family. Bud Jr. moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1959. He was a hard worker and found employment with Don Seelye Ford, formally the Tom Cronelly Company. He went on to advance and relocated his employment through John Truckery Construction Company for 25 years, where he was employed until he retired. Buddie loved good preaching and singing under the direction of Administrative and Superintendant Rudolph R. Thomas, the Pastor of the New Jerusalem C.O.G.I.C., where he loved to make his presence. Buddie was a people person and known to be a fun, caring, sharing person. People loved to be around him because of his outgoing personality and characteristics. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Buddie Thompson, Sr.; 2 sisters, Dorothy Jean Lipsey and Lucinda Babbitt; his long-time companion, Ruby Bell who was dear to his heart; 1 aunt, Annie Mae Clemons; 2 nephews, Charles Thompson and Bobby Lipsey and 1 granddaughter, Carmeshia Jones. He leaves behind to forever cherish his memories: his loving family: 8 sons, Michael Carver and Kevin (Michelle) Carver all of Kalamazoo, MI; Timothy (Renee) Carver of Atlanta, GA; Terrence (Meika) Thompson, Larry Bell, Reginald Bell, Bennie (Ceta) Bell, Tony Bell all of Kalamazoo, MI; and Perry Bell (Gloria Stacy) of Atlanta, GA; 1 daughter, Yolanda Bell of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 brothers, Willie (Rennie) Thompson and Richard (Jessie) Thompson of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 sisters, Josephine Moore and Flora Galloway both of Kalamazoo, MI; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren all of Kalamazoo; and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Also, 4 special friends, Al Bowen, formally of Mississippi; Vernell Haynes, MC White, and Richard Ezell all of Kalamazoo and all of the other extended family who he loved and cared for.
