Mr. Charles Allen McMillon Sr.

August 12, 1928 - March 31, 2017

Mr. Charles Allen McMillon Sr. (LiL Brother) passed away March 31, 2017 after a brief illness. He was the 7th child born of 17 children. He was born August 12, 1928 in Benoit, Mississippi to the late Grant McMillon Sr. and Lillie Johnson-McMillon. Charles moved up North to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1951. He was employed at KFM Foundry until he retired in 1993, after over 40 years of employment. After retirement, he enjoyed his life with continuous cooking, going fishing and what he called “Taking it easy”. He leaves to cherish his memories: his seven children, Charles Allen McMillon Jr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Joel McMillon of Tucson, Arizona; Haywood (Debra) McMillon of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Velma Wilkes of Tampa, Florida; Maxine Roberts of Snellville, Georgia; Jason McMillon and Steven McMillon both of Kalamazoo, Michigan; a special lady friend, Sandra Miller; three sisters, Vera McMillon and Clairee Sanders, both of Saginaw, Michigan and Dortha McMillon of Grand Rapids, Michigan; four brothers, Clinton McMillon, and Joel (Earlease) McMillon both of Saginaw, Michigan; John McMillon of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Roosevelt (Dee) McMillon of Barlett, Tennessee. Charles had thirty-one grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant McMillon Sr. and Lillie Johnson-McMillon; his wife, Emmerline Armstrong-McMillon; four children, Katherine McMillon, Emma McMillon Quinn, Christine McMillon Babbitt and Maureen McMillon; one grandson, Carl Roberts Jr. and one granddaughter, Metreon (MiMi) Woodson; great-great granddaughter, Camilla Rae O’Neal; six brothers, Wilbert, Grant, Willie Sr., T.J., Gilliard and baby McMillon; and two sisters Catherine and Jeralean.
