If you have any questions, please contact us at: (269) 342-1000 ___________________________________________ The Obituary Mr. Charles Perkins Jr. (also known as "Perk") was born on April 22, 1938 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and was called home on Apri 16, 2022, in Galesburg, MI. He is the late son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Perkins Sr. Charles Perkins Jr. spent his early childhood in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and the family relocated to Benton Harbor, MI where he graduated high school. In Charles's early adulthood he met a young woman that somehow took his heart and her name was Olaray Reese. They decided to start a journey of their own; which lead them to settle down in Kalamazoo where he worked at NAARCO along with Jacquay's, where he was well known and loved by many. During that time, Olaray Reese became Olaray Perkins and soon after they had their first blessing Margaret Ann Perkins ("Peggy") then shortly after their second blessing Charles Perkins III ("Chuck") making their family official. In the latter part of his life, Charles worked for Sweet MFG, where he retired. Charles enjoyed fishing, community service, church and joking with family and friends. Also, family gatherings, word searches, western movies and jazz. Mr. Charles Perkins Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Perkins Sr.; his mother, Ivory Perkins; his nephew, Marcus Perkins and his grandson, William A.P. Brown II. Charles is survived by his children, Juan Lewis, Margaret Ann Perkins ("Peggy"), Charles Perkins III ("Chuck"); his brothers, Jessie Lee Cook (Evelyn), Robert Perkins (Roxie) and Roosevelt Perkins (Deloris), and loving sister, Charlene Robinson (Anthony); 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and host of nieces and nephews.
