Ms. Charlesetta "Rose" Stegall

March 11, 1940 - October 31, 2017

Charlsetta “Rose” Stegall transitioned from this life on October 31st, 2017. Rose was born on March 11th, 1940 in East Prairie, MO to Charles and Henrietta Woods. She moved to Kalamazoo Michigan in 1957. She was first baptized at Open Door church in Charleston, MO in 1952 and again in 2007 at Galilee Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. She was a devoted volunteer for several organizations including the Gospel Mission and Kalamazoo Public Schools. She served on the board for the Ecumenical Senior Center. She was a very active person and always on the go, with many different interests. She completed and earned a certificate for Ball Room Dance and and also for Air Brushing. In 2000, she was presented an award by the Safe House for Love, Support and Understanding. Rose was loving and a hard worker. She was employed at General Motors Corporation in Kalamazoo for 30 years before retiring. After retirement, she started working again for Bronson Methodist Hospital, until retiring in August of 2017. Rose was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rose leaves to cherish her memory her children: Cynthia Michelle Woods, Tammie Phillips, LeRoy Snell Jr. all of Kalamazoo and Tequila Woods of Plano, TX; grandchildren: Gregory Phillips of Ft. Worth, TX; Tyrikka Phillips of Dallas, TX; Darnell Dobbins of Kalamazoo; Ramiah Woods of Cedar Hill, TX ; Kenedee Woods of Ft. Worth, TX; Ya’Navia Snell and Royce Snell both of Kalamazoo; great grandchildren: Tyriel Dove of Plano, TX and Ryan Dobbins of Kalamazoo; special children: Denise Stegall and Aretha Stegall both of Phoenix and Robert “Bobby” Jackson of Kalamazoo and Daughter–in-love, Veronda White of Cedar Hill, TX; surviving siblings: Hortense Williams (Hulen Williams), Willie Woods, Georgia Eadie and Easter Best all of Kalamazoo; Betty Williams of Kansas City, MO and Rose Laverne Betts (R.J.) of Kalamazoo; a special niece, Mary McKinney (LeRoy McKinney) of Battle Creek; a special lifetime friend, LeRoy Snell Sr. of Kalamazoo, MI; Best Friends: Mary Alice Carver and Janie Reed. Also, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents, Charles and Henrietta Woods; son, Kenneth Woods; special son, Travis Nyman; brothers, Charles Woods, Robert Woods, and Billie Woods; sisters, Mozell Wilson, Lillie Patterson and Vergie Woods.
