*****NOTE: PLEASE SEE CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR SERVICES BELOW**** Delisa Kay Olvera (McGrew) age 60, passed away after a brief illness at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born February 15, 1957, the daughter of the late Mary Helen (Fultz) Clark, and the late Otis J. Clark Sr., in Buchanan, MI. She grew up in Kalamazoo, MI and attended the Loy Norrix H.S. class of 1975. After high school she worked for the Kalamazoo County Head Start program for several years. Wanting a better life for herself and her son Cornell, she left the Head Start program to work for the Sapa Corporation (formerly Wells Aluminum), there she met her former husband Felix Olvera, and to this union one daughter, Analesa was born. In 2000, she went to work at the Stryker Company until her health started to decline. Delisa, also known as Lisa to her family, confessed hope in Christ at an early age. She would often tell people about the plan that God had for her life. Even after being diagnosed with Stage 3 brain cancer she always had a smile on her face she would witness to people telling them about her situation but finishing up with, “Anyway, How you doing?”. Delisa, also known as “Dimonde” to her friends, never met any strangers. She left an everlasting impression on everyone she met. She enjoyed going thrifting with her many friends and acquaintances, always looking for that hidden treasure! Her children; Cornell and Analesa, along with her ten grandchildren (who loving called her Grande) were the apple of her eye. She dreamed of starting a community garden so her grandchildren and the children in the community could learn to plant and grow fresh fruit and vegetables. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard McGrew and a special aunt, Theola Fultz. She is survived by her son Cornell (Dina) Gordon of Kalamazoo, MI; her daughter, Analesa Olvera of Dallas, TX; ten grandchildren; three sisters: Theresa L. Powell of Toledo, OH; Mona (Roosevelt) Augustus of Madison, AL and Brenda Anderson of Galesburg, MI; one brother, Otis J. Clark, Jr. of Gainesville, FL; and special friend Fred Holden. Also, a host of uncles, aunts, cousin’s extended family members and friends and her fiercely loyal dog, Ruby.
