Mr. Gary Bloodworth
November 4, 1962 - January 27, 2020
****Please See CORRECTED VISITATION & SERVICE TIMES and Location are Listed Below**** Gary Leon Bloodworth was born November 4, 1962 to Annie Mae Bloodsworth and Robert Boyd. He was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area attending Roosevelt and North Glade Elementary, Hillside Junior High, Kalamazoo Central High School and KVCC. During his junior high and high school years he had a man’s best friend named Duke who he loved to take around the neighborhood with him. Throughout his life he enjoyed pick-up games of various sports and played football for KC during his high school years. He was an avid card player with his favorite games being Poker, Gin Rummy and Spades. He also became a Bingo fanatic taking after his loving mother Annie Mae, and most of all he enjoyed cruising through town blasting his radio at extremely high decibels causing the neighbor’s windows to shake often while running errands for his Aunt Gussie and Aunt Stella. He held a number of jobs over the years including Taco Bell, Summit Polymers, Meijer's and Eaton Corporation. In his younger years he possessed a strong work ethic frequently working more than one job at a time. On the side he was a makeshift mechanic often working on a friend or family members car. In later years he became a handy man concentrating his skills on home repairs and remodeling. One of Gary’s greatest character traits was loyalty. If you were on his friends and family list there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you. Oh, he would complain a lot and inform folks that they “irritates” him but none the less he would seldom say no to anyone that needed his help. Gary had an infectious sense of humor teasing folks to the point of tears. He loved to eat, with red hot sauce being his favorite condiment. Nothing was too hot for him. He once got evicted from a soul food restaurant in Atlanta for telling the owner that his trademark hot sauce was not hot enough. His favorite birthday cake was yellow cake with dark chocolate frosting and he wouldn’t eat anything at all that contained onions. In recent years Gary’s adventurous spirt was slowed down due to a variety of illnesses. Sadly, after a hard fought battle he slipped peacefully into the arms of his loving savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 27 2020. Gary was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Charles and Sallie Bloodworth, Sisters Sallie Mae Bloodworth, Tonetta Marie Bean and Michele Vincent, Aunt Barbara Harris, Uncles Charlie Joe, Lonnie, Charles and Vincent Bloodworth and special cousin Paulette Harris. Gary leaves to cherish his memory his mother Annie Mae Bloodsworth, his children Ramone Farris of Bloomington Illinois, Gary Wilson, Cerise Bloodworth and Tamara Joyce all of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Andrew Roberts of Arkansas. Grandchildren Jazzlyn, Alayla, Zuria, Sharyha, Damari, Deontre, Donte, Kalaya, Coriona, DaJuan, Anajah, Jerrionna, Jerrell and Dominic. Aunts Delphine Bloodworth, Diane Stubbs, and Carla Thompson. Uncles Robert, Terry and William Bloodworth, special childhood friend Shedrick Whitmore, several great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and a host of other family and friends.
