WE WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE HAND SANITIZER WHEN ENTERING THE BUILDING. If you have any questions please contact us at: (269) 342-1000 _____________________________ THE OBITUARY Gary Lee Gill went to be with the Lord on March 13th, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born June 27th, 1958, to Mrs. Essie Mae Gill and Ernest Ray Sims in Muskegon Heights Michigan. A few of his life passions include fishing on his boat, having his yard sales all while raising and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gary attended Central Elementary, Muskegon Heights jr. High and Muskegon Heights Senior High. He secured a job at Pohaski’s Grocery store, and shined shoes as side hustle. In 1979 Gary moved to Kalamazoo Michigan, where he began working at Borgess Medical Center. During his 12-year employment he met the love of his life, Laura Newton. In 1985, Gary and Laura were married and into this union, bared 5 beautiful daughters. Gary was a member of Open Door Ministries Church in Kalamazoo Michigan for several years, first and foremost he was a man of God. Gary is a well-respected man who brought inspiration to whoever he connected with. His fun-loving spirit, kind demeanor and willingness to help those in need made him a blessing to many. Gary was whatever you may have needed him to be and always there to lighten any situation. Gary’s greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved and cherished them dearly especially his children and grandchildren; he was a family man. He will truly be missed by those whose lives he touched. Gary leaves to cherish a wife, Laura Gill. Five daughters Nicole Gill, Tiffany Gill, and Allisha Gill of Kalamazoo. Jennifer Gill of Muskegon and Danielle Gill of Lansing. Two sons, Marcus Moore (Sharonda) of Chicago IL, and Christopher Simmons of Kalamazoo. Three brothers Rickey Gill, Ernie Gill, and Benny Gill of Kalamazoo. Nine granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, two great grandsons and a very special grandson who more like a son, Bernard Wogoman Jr. (B.J.) Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Gary was preceded in death by his Mother Essie Mae Gill, His father Ernest Ray Sims, His maternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Manning. His Paternal Grandparents Maude Jasper and Sammie Sims. Two sisters Sheila Sims and Lily Mae Gill (Shotwell). Two Brothers John Gill and Robert Earl Manning. Three Grandsons Michael, A’metrius and Ervin Dunigan and many other loving family members.
