James Kenneth Wysinger, 71, better known as Kenny to many and "Sarge" to some, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 while at home. Kenny was born in Gary, IN on July 29, 1945 to Hardy and Geneva Wysinger and was one of ten children. The Wysinger family moved from Gary, IN to Benton Harbor, MI where he attended Benton Harbor area schools until he joined the Marine Corp in 1962, where he proudly served. Kenny rose to the rank of Sargent and he excelled in many areas, which included being an excellent marksman and a prolific sharp-shooter. James Kenneth Wysinger completed 3 tours of duty while serving in the Vietnam War era and completed a brief stay in Cuba, during the Cuba missile crisis. Kenny was also one of the few elite Black men who qualified for the under-water welding team. After honorable discharge, he returned to Benton Harbor and secured a job as a foreman at Bendix Corp until he retired after nearly 30 years. Within that time he met the light of his world! In 1981, James "Kenny" Wysinger met and married the sugar for his coffee, the fizz for his Pepsi and the sweet in his candy, the lovely Ms. Sharon E. Anderson, better known to family and friends as Shea! Kenny was man's man, who loved fishing and he could fix anything! He was quick-witted and always brought the fun to every summer gathering. Horse shoes anyone?! James Kenneth Wysinger is preceded in death by his parents, Hardy and Geneva Wysinger; 2 sisters, Carolyn and Virginia, 3 brothers, William Larry and Charlie. James is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sharon; his daughters, Angela Anderson and Janelle A. (Tyrone) Hampton; one son, Sean (Penny) Anderson all of Kalamazoo; two brothers, George (Ernestine) Wysinger, and Ricky Wysinger; two sisters, Mary (Steve) Wooden and Judy Pollard; 12 grandchildren, DJ, Marcus, Jaelyn, Jiselle, Joaquin, Jair, Javier, Preshous, SeAnna, Jakeel, Jalen and Najha; two great grandchildren, Aniya and Cadence, and a host of other in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family! Also, his brothers "from another mother", Ricky Ford, Wendell Clark, Eddie Anderson and the late Richard Moore; And finally, the Sarge's "road doggs", Roger Chambers, Jewel Williams, Curtis Copeland, Vernon Chambers, Teddy Johnson and Bear!
