Ms. Janis Onita Campbell went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 8, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, surrounded by family. She was born November 20, 1960 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Joseph Campbell and Maylene Campbell. Janis attended Galilee Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Janis loved to read, listen to music and spend time with family and friends. Her vivacious and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on. She was preceded in death by sister, Shari Shegog and both paternal and maternal grandparents. Janis leaves to cherish her memory her son, Calvin Campbell of Kalamazoo; parents, Joseph and Maylene of Kalamazoo; two grandsons, Calvin II and Tavin Campbell; her sister/and "best friend", Versi (Charles) Hines of Kalamazoo; two brothers, Darryl (Lois) Campbell and Joseph Campbell both of Kalamazoo, Michigan; great aunt, Lois Avery of Detroit, Michigan; two nieces, Chylon Hines of Georgia and Erika Campbell of Kalamazoo; two nephews, Kareen Thomas and Joseph Hines both of Kalamazoo and a host of great nieces, aunts, cousins and friends.
