Mr. Jimmie L. Windham

April 13, 1940 - June 19, 2017

Jimmie Lee Windham (also known as ("Shakey"), was born April 13, 1940 in Preston, Mississippi, to the union of Annie and Arthur Windham. He was the fourth of seven children. He attended Salem School in Preston, MS. As a young boy, he later relocated with his family to Chicago, IL. Growing up, Jimmie worked as a chef and did carpentry with his cousins, John Earl Davis and Archie Davis. He spent his adult years travelling, fishing and entertaining the family. Jimmie was the life of the party ! He loved playing the harmonica and singing to his nieces and nephews. You could always catch him dancing or watching his old western movies. He was full of life and one of his saying, "Feed the crow", was one of the many jokes he liked to play on the kids. He thought it was funny, but the kids didn't think so! In his later years, Shakey became settle and the entertainer in him sat down. He was always quick to give others and not expect anything in return. Jimmie made his transition at the Washington Square Apartments in Kalamazoo, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Arthur Windham; one sister, Essie Brown; two brothers-in-law, Robert Brown and Robert Keller; a special brother-in-law, Robert Campbell; a niece, Rose Ann Hickman; a new-in-law, David Mitchell. Also, many other relatives that have passed on. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: two sisters, Essie Mae Keller and Katie Hunt; 3 brothers, Jimmie Dee, Cleotis and James Otis; his favortie cousin, David ("Crockett") Griffin; his special friend, Sally a host of beautiful nieces, handsome nephews and generations and generations of both. Also a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other realtives and friends.
