JOANNE MARIE LEE WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2022, AT OUR FUNERAL HOME. OUR BUILDING ****NOTE: A WALK-THROUGH VISITATION IS SCHEDULED ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2022 FROM 4:30-6:00 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME ****THE FAMILY IS REQUESTING THAT MASKS ARE WORN IN ATTENDANCE TO THEIR LOVED ONE'S FUNERAL SERVICE. WE WILL STILL PROVIDE HAND SANITIZER WHEN ENTERING OUR BUILDING. If you have any questions, please contact us at: (269) 342-1000 ______________________________________ THE OBITUARY Joanne M. Lee passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in Kalamazoo, Michigan after a lengthy illness. Joanne was born on March 29, 1950, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the union of William and Everine Lee. She became a Christian at a young age and married the love of her life, Frederick E. Marshall (deceased) where they gave birth to three sons. She graduated from Central High School and was a graduate of the Upjohn Institute. Joanne was employed by Western Michigan University in the Registrar’s Office and retired after 30 years of service in 2011. She was very active in her local church for 30 years and was a valuable asset to the ministry. She served as a Secretary, Pastor’s Aide & Traveling Companion, she also served on the hospitality team at state level under the directions of Mothers Mae Thomas and Martha Nichols and participated in every church fundraiser at Greater Open Door C.O.G.I.C. under Pastor Blair McLain and Lady J, until she was called home to be with the Lord. Joanne Lee was preceded in death by her mother and father, William Lee and Everine Lee; her brother, Michael Solomon Lee; her sisters, Sharon Jean Lee and Judy Elizabeth Lee. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Ross Lee of Las Vegas, NV; her three sons, Frederick E. (YaSheema) Marshall, II of Kissimmee, FL; Bart (Keyonna) Marshall of Kalamazoo, MI and Bud (Kafi) Marshall of Kalamazoo, MI. She has 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and some close friends, LaShaun Cousar of Ill.; Curtis & Earlene Murray, Beverly Boyd and Charlene Harkness of Kalamazoo, MI; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
