ROOSEVELT ARMSTRONG WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, MARCH 26, 2022 AT OUR FUNERAL HOME, ****NOTE: PLEASE SEE VISITATION & TIMES LISTED BELOW**** ****PLEASE NOTE THE FAMILY IS REQUESTING THAT MASKS ARE WORN AND WE WILL PROVIDE HAND SANITIZER WHEN ENTERING OUR BUILDING. If you have any questions, please contact us at: (269) 342-1000 __________________________________________ THE OBITUARY Mr. Roosevelt Armstrong went home to be with the Lord, March 11, 2022 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born October 21, 1935 in Inverness, MS the son of Ed Lee Armstrong, Sr. and Christine Armstrong. He accepted Christ at an early age and he was a member of Prayer Garden Church of God In Christ in Kalamazoo under the leadership of his Pastor, Elder John Howard Buchanan. In 1958 he united in marriage to Estella Mae Phillips and to this union 5 children were born. Roosevelt would later relocate his family from Mississippi to Michigan. In 1964, after moving his family to Kalamazoo, he started working Borroughs Corporation, where he was employed for many years until his retirement. In 1979, Roosevelt married Rose Lee James and from this union 2 children were born. Roosevelt enjoyed bowling, watching old western tv shows and movies and tending to his garden. He was a family man who loved spending time with his family. He also loved finding bargins and telling the story of it for hours! He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Estella Armstrong and his 2nd wife, Rose Lee James; parents, Ed and Christine Armstrong, his daughter, Shirlean Armstrong; 2 brothers, John Henry and Robert Lee Armstrong; sister-in-law, Ethel Armstrong; three sisters, Dorothy Dixion; Catherine Washington and Estella White; and one brother-in-law R.V. Dixion. He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Cynthia (Frank) Carter; Brenda Armstrong; Anita Armstrong; Patricia Armstrong; Damion Armstrong and Rachel Flowers; 1 brother Ed Lee (Jean) Armstrong of San Jose, CA; 3 sisters-in-law, Debra James and Vicki James and Rosie Armstrong; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Als,o a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
