****NOTE: Visitation & Funeral Service Location Listed Below**** Mr. Roosevelt K. Brown, also known as “Lil Roe”, made his transition on December 27, 2018 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born on December 26, 1942 in Chicago, IL the son of Roosevelt and Ann Brown. He attended a Seventh Day Adventist elementary school in Chicago, and later graduated from DuSable High School. He later went on to serve our country by joining the United States Marine Corps. After being Honorably Discharged, moved back to Chicago and became employed with International Harvesters as a Machinist. He was employed there for many years until he retired. Roosevelt united in marriage to Rose Cotton and to this union 2 children were born, Qiana and Ashli. Roosevelt was a private person but also a very outgoing and outspoken man. He loved watching sports on tv, especially boxing and football. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading Western novels. He also loved his favorite dog named Hershey. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, 1 uncle, 1 niece and 1 cousin. Roosevelt is survived by his wife, Rose Cotton-Brown; 2 daughters, Qiana Julien of Mountainview, CA and Ashli Cotton of Dallas, 5 grandchildren, Joshua Julien, Caleb Julien, Hadiya Julien, Kamau Julien and Manasseh Cotton; 1 sister, Lillian Wright; 5 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
