Mr. Jim Jerry Hampton

Jim left life suddenly after a short illness. He was born March 24, 1956 the proud parent of Rosie M. Dunning and Jim Pierson. Jim attended Kalamazoo Public Schools and later in life he received his GED. Jim was in the U.S. Army as a PFC-E3 stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged. Jim was known as a father, brother and a friend to many. He also was known for his joyful smile, and would have you laughing uncontrollably. He was not a "big-shot" type of person. He would always strive for something a little bit better in life. But, don't make him mad! Jim loved fishing, music, loved to dress "Jack-Sharp". Jim loved to Barbecue and had special technique where the meat would be so tender (umm, umm! very good!) He loved to cook and some would say he cooked better than any women. Jim loved children, he didn't care whose child they were. In life he wanted to have things, he pushed forward doing odd jobs until he started working in some lumber yards in Kalamazoo, MI later in Houston, TX. Also, played bass guitar with some of his friends in the Kalamazoo area. Jim met the love of his life, Cherie Walker and fathered two children: Idrissa and Aaron who completed and rounded out his family through life challenges and fate he pushed forward. Even though the perils of life had affected him, he still pushed forward. He knew the love of God and it showed in his actions. As Jim went through his illness, he confess his belief in God and is now saved. With the motherly love he received at a young age, it kept him in tact. He learned from his mom that life is whatever you make of it. But, always treating your neighbor like you wanted to be treated. "God receive your child, he has come home." Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie M. Price; brother, Jessie James Dunning, his love, Cherie Walker and his son, Aaron Walker. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his father, Jim (Willie) Pierson; 3 brothers, Todd Price of Newark, NJ; Atiba Hodges; Shawn (Stephanie) Pierson all of Kalamazoo; sisters, Nicole Price, Cheryl (Ricky) Johnson and Tonya (James) Hollins; daughter Idrissa (Micheal) Forbes; 4 grandchildren, Terrel, Idriss, Michael, Cherie all from Houston, TX and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
