Ms. Katherine Louise Harris

Ms. Katherine Louise Watson (Bishop Kathy Louise Harris) was born June 7, 1945 in Cleveland, OH to John D. and Cena Watson. Ms. Kathy Harris went home to be with Daddy on December 6, 2010. Her parents and siblings Sally Willis, Yvonne Hightower and Johnny Watson preceded her in death. Ms. Kathy was baptized at an early age at Second New Hope Baptist Church. She graduated from East Technical High School and went on to a college of the Arts in Cleveland. She was a faithful member of Christian Life Center, in Kalamazoo for many years. She volunteered with Kalamazoo County Head Start as a classroom assistant for several years until her granddaughter, CC completed Head Start. Her classroom hours awarded her with the Volunteer of the Year award, where she was able to spend a week at U of M, representing Head Start. Her pride in life was her love for God ("Daddy")--praising and worshiping Him every moment she could. Her second pride was her grandchildren and great grand's. You could see her face light up whenever she spoke of them. She loved them dearly. Ms. Kathy loved fashion and could often be seen making a fashion statement from head to toe. Most noted were the hats that she would wear. You also would find her "decking her home out" in a Christmas theme every year with the dining room table dishes and table ornaments set-up to match every theme that came to her mind that year. Christmas was her most favorite time of the year. "Remembering Christ", she would say. She loved to design to show her art expertise. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Herbert of Cleveland, OH; Leo; Antoinette; and Johnny all of Kalamazoo; her brother Stanley (Kristen) Watson and Bernice Anderson all of Cleveland, OH. Her grandchildren, Keonta, Kelley, LeSeanda, Darius Walker, Samantha Johnson, Alexander Pellitier, Michael Williams, XiaXiange Pugh, Tyrone Smith, Darion Flie, Jalissa, Jordan, Sarah and Gabriella Harris. 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also, a special nephew, Tyrone; special friends, Lenora J. Burnett and Patricia Jordan. A number of other friends, you know who you are as well. She loved everyone. Bishop Kathy Louise Harris will sadly be missed. But we rejoice in her home going--because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord...
