Robert loved having the opportunity to celebrate two birthdays with February 11th being his favorite. Robert went to be with his heavenly Lord, on Friday, June 21, 2019 surrounded by his family. Robert received the Lord at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church, under the ministry of the late Mabry Gardner. He graduated high school from Kalamazoo Central in 1972, where he was a stand-out football player. Robert had a passion for sports including baseball, softball, basketball and football. He led a community based softball team to a championship in the Magic Johnson softball tournament. Robert was a strong supporter and champion for the Northside Rocket Football League and Coach for the Douglass Community Center Midnight League as well as he Northside Little League Baseball. Amongst other activities Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all he enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews participate in sporting events. On June 10, 1972, Robert was united in marriage for 47 years to the love of his like, Jackie Thomas, who he would often refer to as “Jackie Ruth" The couple has two loving children, Robert Lee Little Jr. and Keanna Green. Robert was employed at Clausing Corporation and then he transferred employment to the City of Kalamazoo where he retired after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie B. and Mard Ella Little; two sisters, Nettie B. Martin and Tammy Kelly; two brothers, Andrew and Lorenzo Little. He leaves to cherish fond memories with his wife Jackie Little; children, Robert Little Jr. and Keanna (Christopher) Green and Derrick Smith; sisters , Geneva (Melvin) Jackson and LaGeta Little; brothers, John, Albert, Robert Sam (Rhonda), Orlando (Marvita), Demeetrius Little all of Kalamazoo, Curtis Little of Shuqualak, MS; L.B. Bush of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Ajamion Sr., Arjanae Morgan, Derrick Jr. and Nasir Smith; great grandchildren, Ajamion Jr. and Asiya Morgan; and 2 sisters-in-love, Jill Little and Nancy Buchanan. Also, a host of special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special goddaughters, Janae Jackson and Tamika Peake; a special cousin, Brenda Hall Carter and special friends, The Bundle Brothers and Bradley Fields.
